A new branch of the Women’s Institute – the decades-old British group best known for making jam and singing hymns such as “Jerusalem” – is causing a stir amongst traditionalists by abandoning cooking and sewing in favour of sex therapy. The Bramley branch has invented “WI Lite” with the aim of attracting younger women to the group. Instead of flower arranging or cake making, the group has featured a burlesque dance tutorial, a Q&A with a sex therapist and a life drawing class featuring a nude male model. The change has successfully attracted over 60 members so far and has official WI backing. Some, however, aren’t happy with the changes and have lodged official complaints…
